If you are here, you
are likely an animal lover.
We all know abuse
exists,
but you may ask yourself,
what can I do?
|
|
Here's an easy one. My bank offers
Humane Society checks. A donation is made of 15 cents each
time I write a check.
I have
USbank, check with
your bank to see if they offer this.

These are my 3 dogs. Te Deum Laudamus, Katelyn Anna Marie, and Savannah
Issabella Marie.
Teddy and Katie have both recently passed. Katie died
recently, she was diabetic; but lived s full life with insulin
for 6 years after being diagnosed. She died at age 12. Teddy also passed
recently of old age. Savannah is our only dog at the moment. My family and I
have had a variety of other dogs, as we foster. Some for up to 2 years. We love
animals.

All mammals can be diabetic. They all can live with
proper diet and insulin.

Stray dog.
I look at you and I weep.
You look at me
as if you know.
You know I am weeping.
I have been you.
I too
have been lost.
Memories are like liquid, flowing, evaporating, freezing.
You hid in the ditch with me, providing my growl as strangers came near.
Your night vision helped me see clearly, your fur enveloped me, keeping me warm.
Your claws grounded firmly in the soil, helping me to stand my ground.
Your keen sense of direction, always leading me home.
Though with human voice, you could never speak to me,
your meaning was easily known.
You have no leash, for me to lead you.
No name for me to call.
How you became a stray
shall always be a mystery,
a question I need not answered.
Today,
Stray,
is your lucky day.
With open arms, I shall welcome you into my home.
Where you came from, and where you have been,
never
to be known.
