Proof From The Ouija Board

My name is Alicia. When i was about 16, my friend Jaime, my sister Kristin and I experimented with the Ouija Board pretty frequently. It started out as something playful and we never really expected to get anything more out of it.

My attic was the perfect atmosphere. We would sit in the middle of the floor surrounded by candles, which would cast creepy shadows around us.

It was nothing more than fun and games for a couple of teenagers on quiet nights. Until one night the unexpected happened...

We were in our usual surroundings, speaking with a spirit named Jay. We spoke with him very often. We asked how old he was, How he died, the usual. Then finally I asked "Where are you right now?" There was a pause before he replied " Right next to you." This freaked Kristin out so she decided to quit for the night. Jaime and I, being as brave as we are continued while Kristin sat across the room on the telephone. I guess Jaime found this amusing so she asked him, with a sarcastic laugh, to somehow prove that he was in the room with us. For almost an entire minute nothing was said. Almost simultaneously our heads jerked back as if someone had pulled our hair. Now i mentioned that we are brave...but not that brave. Kristin witnessed this from where she sat and we immediately ran downstairs into her kitchen. We stood there for a few minutes collecting ourselves, when we suddenly heard the radio blasting from the attic. I went to the door and peered up the stairs to see all the candles blown out. Now, I know for a fact that my window wasn't open and the air wasn't on because at the time it was winter, so it couldn't have been that. So, by this time we were really shaken up. Kristin went to the phone and tried to contact a friend to come get us out of the house. I went to the sink for a glass of water to calm my nerves, and Jaime sat at the table with her head in her hands. While I was standing at the sink I suddenly felt a violent chill go through my body and I dropped the glass I had been getting from the cabinet. I whipped my head around and looked at Jaime, both of our eyes wide and my skin covered in goosebumps. I told her to come over where I was and to stand in the exact spot I had been. She did so and to our astonishment I saw her shiver and quickly move away. We confirmed that we felt the same thing. Kristin walked back into the room and informed us that a friend would be there to pick us up any minute. That helped us relax a little. So we sat around the kitchen table and waited. As we were talking, I looked over Jaime's shoulder and whispered "Oh my God." Jaime slowly turned her head and what we saw was a young man in a hockey uniform standing by the sink staring at us. I couldn't move a muscle even if I tried. He was blurry and unfocused but we were able to see that sinister smile, which we'll never forget. We sat there exchanging his stare in silence for what felt like an eternity when we heard a beep outside and he disappeared. At that moment the radio had turned off and we ran outside to safety.

We don't know what would have happened if our friend hadn't arrived at that time. I don't even want to imagine.

After reflecting on our experience a few hours later we remembered a few details of his death. He was very open about it on the Board. See, Jay played hockey. After a victory one night he went out with his team. We assume he had a few drinks or something because he got into a car accident that night and died. Of course he didn't explain it in such detail. Spirits on the Board speak in broken sentences usually. But we were able to figure it out and put it all together.

We haven't really touched a Ouija Board since and to this day when we have conversations about him, and that night, we feel we're not alone.

Valentine Miracle

It may be different then a lot of the ones you get. I'm only 16 but have experienced a major loss. My dad died when I was 12. He had cancer. He was such a great guy. Cared so much about working outside in our yard and about taking care of our brand new pool. When I was growing up we didn't have much money so to have a pool was very exciting for us. He loved the pool. Took a lot of pride in it. He died October 25th, 1996, at about 3:30 in the morning. The upcoming winter, December it was, the lights we had around the pool stopped working. Suddenly. All at once. Being that my dad loved the pool and would have freaked if he saw that those lights went out, we had somebody come by to fix the lights. After hours of looking for the problem, the man said he couldn't figure out why the lights wouldn't work. The wires we fine and the timer was set where it was suppose to be (my dad had set the lights on a timer so they would light up the same time everynight). So we ended up just forgetting about the problem and moving on. That Valentines Day at about 7:30 in the evening, the lights lit up. All at once. Not a single one out. I wasn't there to see it happen. But I walked out into the kitchen of my small ranch house and saw my mom standing over the kitchen counter crying. When I asked her why, she simply pointed outside. At my first glance out, I knew exactly what she meant. Those lights. My dads light were lit up! It was like he did it for us to see he was there. I went out in the garage where the timer was and looked at it. It was set for 8:30. An hour earlier. It was a wonderful thing to happen because he made me realize my dad was always going to be there. I woke up the next morning, and the lights were off. The miracle was over. The following Valentines Day, the exact same thing happened. And the Valentines day after that. They only ever light up on Valentines day and we have always watched.. It is although, only one of the things that happen around here that assure me my dad is with me.

The Ghost of Fox Camp

By

Ronald J. Walker

This is a true story that began in September 1986. My uncle and I are Deer hunters and have been for years. On Labor Day weekend we always go to the mountains of North Carolina and start scouting for deer sign before the season comes in. A tropical storm moving out of the Gulf of Mexico was headed up the east coast and it was supposed to rain all weekend. I decided to go up a day early by myself and set up camp. Jerry, my uncle was to come up the following afternoon. Fox Camp is the name given to the area because of a check-in station for Deer hunters that used to be on Highway 181 that runs through the middle of the Pisgha National Forest in Burke County. It is a beautiful place to see and visit with good hunting all around the area. This was the Friday before Labor Day and I had arrived at our campsite early that morning. The day was cloudy and it had begun to rain on and off. The ground was getting muddy so I decided to set up a tarp over the back end of my camper shell. I wanted to be able to get out and do things without getting wet. The tarp was big enough for two trucks to get under so there was plenty of room for everything we had. Once camp was set up it was time to relax for a while before going scouting for the afternoon. Nighttime had come now and what a night it was. The air was cool and a steady rain had set in. Just what the doctor had ordered for a good nights sleep. I awoke around 4 a.m. to find that the rain had stopped for the time being so I decided to go ahead and fix something to eat. After breakfast and a visit to see Mother Nature it was time to lay back down and wait for daylight to arrive. What a wonderful morning it was going to be or at least I thought so. It did not take long for me to change my mind. I was lying on my back with my head toward the tailgate, listening to the radio and smoking a cigarette. I was using a drink bottle to prop open the camper lid so I could flip my cigarette ashes outside. I was having the time of my life, no bills to worry about, no grass to cut; I just could not wait for daylight so I could go out in the woods to play. Suddenly I here something that catches my attention. I listen and I hear it again. The bushes next to the truck are shaking like something is going through them. I reach over and turn down the radio to hear better when something starts sliding up the side of my truck. What could it be, a bear, a deer, a dog maybe? My hair is standing up on my arms and my senses are at full alert. All of a sudden the truck starts to rock from side to side and I scream. At the same time the tarp falls and I grab my pistol and spin around toward the tail gate ready to shoot whatever tries to get into the back of the truck with me. Then there’s quiet, no sound what soever. You could have heard a pin drop, all my attention is focused on that tailgate. I not dare open that lid and look out at this stage. After about fifteen minutes of so I have not heard anything so I feel like it’s safe enough to have a peek. It’s light enough now just to see the ground around the truck but the tarp prevents me from seeing anything else. What kind of tracks would I find on the ground? I could hardly wait to find out. Finally it’s light enough to get out and take inventory of things. I had to set the tarp back up and get everything in a little bit of order so I could get around. Lets see what we have here now, I start looking around and guess what? No tracks, everywhere I step there’s my tracks but where are the animal tracks? I can’t believe this, we have to have tracks but no there are none. I start looking all over the place but guess what, no tracks. Finally I gave up and just sat down trying to figure out what had just happened. I tried to replay everything in my head to be sure I wasn’t going crazy or something, but no one could be that scared over nothing. It’s later in the day now and while scouting I could not get this deal out of my head. All day I wondered about there being no tracks. I have hunted for years, go to the woods before daylight always being aware of my surroundings but never been scared of anything until now. What could it have been? I did have one funny thought about the whole thing, I’m just glad that I wasn’t visiting Mother Nature when all of this mess started. Saturday afternoon and Uncle Jerry has arrived now. I proceed to tell him about the events of that morning and he began to laugh. He said it was the boogeyman that was going to get me but I didn’t think it was too funny. He did listen, but just like me he did not understand what had happened. It had begun to rain again and was getting heavy at times. Not much scouting was done that day so we just talked and had a good time. Supper was good and the fellowship as well. It was starting to get dark now and it would not be long before bedtime. I thought everything was over and there was nothing else to worry about, but boy was I wrong.

About the same time as the morning before, I’m sleeping very well when all of a sudden I am awakened by a hard thump on the top of my truck. It’s not daylight, but light enough to see things pretty good. The second I opened my eyes I looked up to the cab of the truck and there it was. I could not believe what I was seeing. This ghost of a figure, something that I could not have imagined existed just looking at me. The face with sunken eyes, snake looking things coming out of its head, six or more of them. Its head moving from side to side like it was trying to figure out what I was too. The only thing I could do was to rub my eyes and look again because I could not believe what I was seeing, but yes it was there. For some reason I picked up my flashlight to see if I could get a better look, but the back glass acted like a mirror and the light blinded me for a moment. When my eyes readjusted to the dim light it was gone. I would not have believed the feeling that I had at that moment. You would think that a person would have passed out or something, but that wasn’t the case. I had a feeling of peace. That’s right, I sat there not knowing what to do and all I could think of was that I now had all the answers to the events of the day before. I knew now what was going on and what had visited me the morning before. Then I had a thought; I had locked my cab up so how did it get into my truck. I got out to check and yes it was still locked. It got in and out of the truck while it was locked. I wanted to make every excuse to say this didn’t happen, but it did. There are ghost out there, really there are. I woke Uncle Jerry immediately to tell him what had happened and if he had heard anything. He knew from the day before that something was going on and that it was serious. At that point I could not stay there anymore and I left with Jerry right on my heals. I’ve been told by some that what I had encountered could have been an Indian Chief from the “Trail of Tears”. That would explain the snake looking things on its head as being an Indian head dress of some sort. I have been back camping there and yes there have been other experiences that are strange but none like this one. I hope I never see this ghost again, believe me I hope I never do.

The House on Phinney Avenue

When I was a little girl, I'm 19 now, my family and I lived in an old house in Seattle, on Phinney Avenue. It was an old house but not that old, my grandmother had owned the house for years, she eventually gave it to my Grandfather and he let us live in it.

My Mom and Dad used to have parties and such and as they all sat downstairs having fun, they would hear the ceiling above them creak as if someone were walking above them, I slept up stairs so they just thought it was me, my mom went upstairs to tell me to go to lay down and go to sleep, but when she got upstairs I already was asleep. And forever after that we always heard "people" walking around upstairs.

One time my grandma gave my mom a dress to wear to a wedding, the afternoon of the wedding, my mom went to her closet to get the dress out, when she opened it she found that the dress was gone, She asked me if I had taken the dress to play dress up or something, I said, "no" then Mom got really mad at me because the dress was missing and she thought I was lying. She looked through everything that day looking for that dress, oddly enough, she didn't find it that day. As a matter of fact she didn't find that dress until two years later when we were moving out, Dad was downstairs in the basement cleaning up, when he found the dress, along with a few other articles of unimportant clothing, torn and knotted up in one corner of the basement.

Another time while Mom was at work, and Dad was home taking care of us kids, he was in the kitchen cooking and I was on the couch in the living room, my baby sister was also on the couch with me. As my dad made dinner he started to hear the volume on the TV get louder and louder, so he yelled to me, "Pooh, turn down the TV" I yelled back to him, as the TV continued getting louder, "I'm not touching the TV, Dad" Just as the Tv was as loud as it could go, my dad came running into the livingroom just in time to catch my little sister falling off the couch, her head almost smacking right into the corner of the coffee table, my dad grabbed her and suddenly the TV returned to normal sound, that ghost was a lifesaver. Later on my grandmother told us that there is a spirit in the house, but it was friendly and would not hurt us. I believed her, but my dad was still scared and we still moved out shortly after!
